I'd never heard of 'Converted' or parboiled rice before seeing this come up, I had to google it to learn what the actual difference is (TL;DR, it has to do with how the husks are removed). Anyway, it makes for a pretty good rice, it's a bit more flavourful and coloured than regular white rice, but not as hard as brown rice. The grains puff-up considerably when cooked, so you get a pretty good volume of cooked rice by the end. It's less sticky than white rice, and retains a some more of the natural flavour of the husk from the aforementioned 'parboiling' process. It's a pretty good compromise between white and brown rice, I'd recommend giving it a shot if you've never tried it before. So this bag will go a long way! We've had best results boiling water/butter on med-high in a nonstick saute pan covered then adding the rice stirring and turning down to medium and leaving it there covered for 20 minutes.
