How Allan Holdsworth Gets His Clean Tone

Hey guys !!

I have seen everyone on youtube and here nail every other tone on the planet...

Nosotros have been able to become every kind of crazy tone out and make fifty-fifty more crazier tones !!

How come up there isn't anyone who has done a GOOD Holdsworth tone redention ??

The ones on youtube are too trebley and terrible -_-"... Anyone got any good leads on his clean tone ??

I'one thousand non sure how make clean his "clean tone" is. I heard a rumor that he uses iv pitch detuners all at once--which does non sound unreasonable--it is definitely possible. Personally I'd run four in parallel if I was going to exercise that.

Wow, that sounds pretty absurd!

I suppose you could achieve information technology with a at present inexpensive Rocktron Intellifex rack unit and some experimentation.

There is better ways of getting these sounds but that is Allans live rig in to the ability stage of the H&K Switch blades.
Some are running DG1000 patches and the remainder UD finish ones in two paths one clean one OD,volume pedals and A/B on the floor.

A lot of his classic clean was the ADA STD-ane Stereo Tapped Delay with multi-voice chorus. A Yamaha UD-Stomp volition besides get there since Alan had a hand in programming the unit and used ane. Also, the Lexicon PCM70/eighty/81 with 6 vocalisation chorus algorithm will definitely practice some amazing Alan tones. A lot of math proportion settings is a good beginning.

The last fourth dimension I saw Allan (93-94is) he had 8 DDL's in his rack for his clean sound. Information technology was a beautiful sound.... Would honey to attempt the magic stomp at some point

Eagle1-italoop is right. He is so good at programming these rack units. His PCM81 set is so gorgeous and the upcoming Eclipse stuff will be stunning.

At that place's a lot of guys out there that have copied information technology to a T. Allan's a friend, but personally I don't like his make clean tone. I've helped him prepare up his stage several times when he's in town. He always calls me upward when he's in town.

Allan's website article must be outdated. He seems to be using this Hughes & Kettner setup lately.
